"In November, everything was normal."
That winter we lived together in a small apartment on the top floor. She cooked breakfast, left notes on the fridge and wrote me a list of chores every morning. In the evening there was a cup of tea on the nightstand, and she never went to bed until I'd finished it.
I was happy with her.
It took me five months to understand that something was wrong. By then it was too late.
This is a true story.
About the game
LESS is a short first-person horror game. It takes place in one apartment over five days, one day a month, from November 2001 to March 2002.
Do the chores on her list, talk to her, drink your tea and go to sleep. Every month something in the apartment is a little different.
PS1-style graphics, VHS filter. Takes about 15 minutes to finish.
Languages: English, Русский, Español (Latinoamérica). Switch anytime with the flag in the bottom-right corner of the main menu or the pause menu.
Controls
- WASD — move
- Mouse — look around
- LMB / E — interact (some actions need to be held)
- R — other action
- Q — put down what you're holding
- Space — stand up / climb down
- Tab — look at her list
- 1 / 2 / 3 — choose a reply
- Esc — pause
Installation
Windows
Unzip the archive and run LESS.exe. If Windows says "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway.
macOS
Unzip the archive and drag LESS.app into Applications. The game isn't notarized by Apple, so the first time you open it, right-click LESS.app, choose Open and confirm.
If macOS says the app is damaged, run this in Terminal:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/LESS.app

The game was an experience. though the objectives are repetitive, is still compensates with the story. though there are some parts of the game that needs some improvements. like the one where you have to find the cleaner on the other side of the house while she's patrolling. I thought I have to find it but it turned out, I just walked outside the room and when I was at the front of the door of the living room I just completed the objective.
also the audio of the cleaner sometimes was too loud. and during the first part of the game where I think it was a loop??? I find it weird since there's no objective there. (you can watch my playthrough for the references that I mentioned)
other than that, it story was consistent. the horror atmosphere was great, I was jumpy.
